Be Aware of Debit Card Scams

We have been receiving reports of fraudulent phone calls to some of our debit card customers. Remember The Bank of Carbondale will never ask you for your card number over the phone. Customers are strongly urged to report any suspect phone calls to us at 618-549-2181 immediately. Also, if you believe you may have given your card number to someone, contact us immediately for a replacement card.

Temporary Increase in FDIC Deposit Insurance Coverage Extended Through 2013

Deposits at FDIC-insured institutions are now insured up to at least $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013.  On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor for all account categories except for IRAs and other certain retirement accounts (including IRAs) which will remain at $250,000 per depositor.  Please contact our new accounts department for questions regarding FDIC coverage and limits.           

The Bank of Carbondale participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program

The Bank of Carbondale is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.  Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.  Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
