Fishing Expedition for Special Populations

Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Bleyer Lake

On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, the Annual Fishing Expedition/Picnic Outing for Special Population youngsters and adults will be held at Bleyer's Lake. This year we are expecting 600+ participants, and we rely on the help of volunteers to help make this a day they will remember and talk about for months.

Volunteers are needed to help these special population youngsters & adults select their fishing equipment and bait their hooks (all equipment will be available). Encouraging them is very important !!! Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

Volunteers should be at the lake and ready for instruction at 8:30AM. The participants from Southern Illinois Schools and Sheltered Workshops will begin arriving between 9:00 - 9:30AM.

Picnic lunches will be provided.

After the participants leave around 2:00PM, volunteers are welcomed to enjoy a rest & recreation period until 5:00PM. Refreshments will be available to help you enjoy your fishing.

Please complete the form below or call Elizabeth at The Bank of Carbondale at 618-549-2181.
